HOW CAN I HELP?

I have experience helping clients with a broad range of issues, including:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Loss - including bereavement, termination or miscarriage, divorce, separation or redundancy

  • Relationship difficulties and dilemmas

  • Experience of sexual, physical and emotional abuse

  • Workplace stress and/or bullying

  • Processing childhood issues such as family relationships

  • Sexual orientation issues

  • Gender identity issues, including the dilemmas around transitioning or redefining self

I also welcome enquiries from those who find it hard to define what is pushing them to seek counselling. This could be a continuing sense of emptiness, a feeling that they can make more of their life, or anything else.

ABOUT  ME

QUALIFICATIONS

I qualified as a therapist in 2001, gaining accredited status in 2004, and have been working with individuals in my private practice here in Ealing since then. I have extensive experience counselling both adults and young people: I counselled in schools and youth counselling services for 23 years alongside my private practice, and welcome enquiries from or on behalf of this age group.

PERSON-CENTRED THERAPY

The type of therapy I offer is known as Person-Centred. Founded by Carl Rogers in the 1940s, it's also sometimes known as Rogerian therapy and belongs to the humanistic school of therapy. You can read more about this type of counselling here.

COUNSELLING OR STUDYING COUNSELLING?

I also offer counselling supervision - I am a qualified counselling supervisor and have been practising since 2003.

I also counsel many psychotherapy students for whom therapy is an integral part of the training, and am attempting to model best practice for them.

I'm on both the Metanoia-approved lists of therapists and of supervisors.
